A heartfelt thank you to the 64 people who joined us for our inaugural gathering. It was lovely to be with you and practice together.

Alētheia Agora will be back on July 13th, and this time we'll be sitting with a Chan/Zen koan and a poem.

I will demonstrate how we work with koans using one of the imaginal practices that we teach in Unfolding Deeply Expanded States.

“What is the Way?”

​“Ordinary mind is the Way”
​Zhaozhou asked,
​“Should I direct myself toward it?”
​Nanquan said,
​“If you try to turn toward it, you go against it.”

​a ceaseless vigil​
without condition
or agenda,

​patient,
​unrelenting in her
​embrace.

​There is endless room in
the heart of this lover,

​foolishness we may
​toss her way.

​But she is also
​crafty, this one–
​a thief who will steal away
​everything we ever cherished,
​all our beliefs,
​all our ideas,
​all our philosophies,

​until nothing is left
​but her shimmering
​wakefulness,

What is the way that cannot be turned toward? That is the question we'll sit with together.

As always, all are welcome. No prior experience of Alētheia Unfolding is required. Steve will offer some unpacking of each selection to help you engage with them in a contemplative way. Then we'll move into meditation and dialogue together.
