II Aletheia Unconference - Giving Tuesday

When: December 3rd | TWO Sessions: 10am-Noon & 4-6pm | Where: Zoom meeting

The True Legacy of Aletheia is Our Community

Reflecting on the first decade of the Aletheia experiment, there has been so much focus on developing the Aletheia Coaching methodology and offering coach training courses, and necessarily so. Graduates are now practicing Aletheia Coaching on six continents. How will this experiment continue to unfold?

We believe that Aletheia's true legacy is not just a coaching methodology but the community of relationships forming between participants in our programs, their families and friends, and their coaching clients. All of you play an essential role in shaping how Aletheia continues to unfold.

To support the deepening of our community relationships, we will host the II Aletheia Unconference on December 3, 2024 - Giving Tuesday. Like our courses, this event will have an AM Session from 10 am - Noon Pacific Time and a PM Session from 4-6 pm Pacific Time. This event is FREE.

Pre-proposed Sessions

  • Room 1: Nicolas Campbell - Open Source Unfoldment

Open source software offers a compelling framework for how collaborative development of complex systems can flourish in a decentralized and self-organizing manner. In this session, we will discuss the possibility of applying this model to Aletheia Integral Unfoldment, potentially sparking a global movement around a living body of knowledge that evolves alongside communities of practice committed to directly addressing the psychological and karmic roots of the meta-crisis.

Room 2: Dom Franks - Unfolding In Nature - Remembering Ourselves As Part Of The More-Than-Human World

How might we extend the unfolding framework to deepen our embodied connection & reverence for the natural world? As we reconnect with the web of life, how might we unfold our way towards right action in its service?

This session will be part embodied experiment and part group discussion. Dom will draw on frameworks from Bill Plotkin and the Animas Valley Institute, as well as our continuing lived experience as part of the web of life on this planet.

Room 3: Angie Fox and Emma Russell - Deepening our Emotional Attunement to our Clients and our Children - playing with Emotional Asanas

Working with emotions is one of the most important things we can do as coaches and also parents.  When we were young, it may not have been ok for us to express our emotions, and we may have learned to repress them. In this session, Angie and Emma will explore… which emotions are easy for you to feel?  Which emotions are harder?  In this fully immersive somatic experience, you will be invited to deepen your emotional contact in order to develop better emotional attunement to your clients and/or your children. We will be working and playing with emotional asanas, and everyone is welcome, whether you’re a parent, a coach, or just curious to come play and explore with us!

Room 4: Tom O'Connor - Knowing our Knowing and Doing

The only way we can have a conversation with ourselves and others is by being a subject and using our own consciousness. We know and converse just by being what we are.  But we know we know and converse by knowing what we are. Wisely, therefore, the Delphic Oracle and Socrates urge us to 'Know thyself'’. In this collaborative conversation, Tom will explore the structure of our own consciousness. What structure does my consciousness have? What do I arrive at when I use it? What exactly do I do when I am knowing and doing? In this session, we will first experience our knowing and doing and then seek to correctly understand what we did when we did it. The coaching consequences of knowing how we know and do are many.

  • Room 1: Sarah-Marie and Nicolas Campbell - Planetary Aletheia: Synchronizing Personal and Collective Unfoldment

In this session, we'll share insights from our explorations of how opening to the unconditional support and nourishment of the Earth and the Ultimate Goodness of Reality serves as an essential support for Unfoldment. Standing firmly in the poetic attunement of loving Truth, Beauty, and Goodness for its own sake aligns our personal intent with universal intent, synchronizing our unfolding with our planet's. As our trust in reality deepens, so does our capacity to serve as channels for wise and creative responses in this time between worlds. Join us to explore how we can cultivate verified trust in reality in support of our individual and collective journey of Unfoldment.

Room 2: Anamaria Aristizabal - The Leadership Needed to Re-Vision Our World

This talk explores a new model of leadership that integrates quantum science, developmental psychology, and indigenous wisdom to address the spiritual disconnect contributing to today’s global crises. We are in an age where incremental change is no longer sufficient; leaders must undergo profound transformations in self-perception, bridging the divide between ego, community, soul, and spirit. Through a process called "Life Re-Vision,” and “World Re-Vision” leaders can reconnect with their deep purpose and align their actions to create positive societal impacts. By cultivating a multi-dimensional identity, these leaders become catalysts for systemic change, fostering organizations that prioritize holistic well-being over mere harm reduction. I will present case studies illustrating how Re-Vision work has empowered leaders to authentically engage with stakeholders and embrace altruistic behaviors, offering a model for leaders committed to planetary flourishing. This session is ideal for changemakers seeking unconventional purpose-driven leadership pathways that resonate with today’s complex challenges.

Room 3: Angie Fox and Emma Russel - Unfolding Feminine Wisdom through The Cycles of Mother Nature - Preparing for Winter

In this conversation, Emma Russell and Angie Fox invite you to deepen into feminine wisdom by apprenticing nature and exploring winter.  For those of us in the northern hemisphere, we are heading there rapidly, with shorter and colder days and longer nights. How does winter serve us? How might we lean into her wisdom? What can she teach us? How might we make this a more meaningful time of unfolding for ourselves and our loved ones? How do you use winter to rest, renew, and incubate ideas for the next season? What are your favorite winter practices?  As feminine wisdom applies universally, all genders are welcome to join this conversation.

Room 4: Kerry Radcliffe and Luther Kitahata - Discoveries from the Field: Early Findings and Emerging Questions in Psychedelics and Aletheia Unfoldment

The re-emergence of psychedelics into mainstream culture creates new offerings for exploring deeply expanded states. What, if anything, is the role of coaching in these offerings?
Kerry and Luther bring fresh findings from their involvement in current research tracking leaders through a psychedelic ceremonial treatment, paired with 4 months of Aletheia coaching.

  • Room 1: Todd Boone - Attunement Tug of War

Fine-tuning the location of our shared attunement in session can be like engaging in a gentle tug-of-war with our client. Intuitively, as the flag of our attention nears our own hands, we’re not deeply attuning to our partner’s experience. But what if the ideal location of our attunement is not in their hands either? Getting clear about where in our client’s experience to attune can markedly expedite what unfolds in and beyond the session.

In this hour, Todd will illuminate three competing agendas present in every facilitated exploration. A live demo will illustrate how to leverage a powerful fourth agenda to expedite unfoldment. Todd will share the most potent two-word invitation in his practice, along with tips for inviting and sustaining deeper attunement through every facilitation.

Room 2: Sam Jensen - An open-discussion centered around festivals and culture building.

Festivals throughout history have served populations by creating temporary alternative worlds and dissolving boundaries. How might festivals, at a large scale, point towards truth, beauty and goodness amidst the "Meta-Crisis"? Are festivals being planned in the Aletheia community?

Sam is planning a small Meta-crisis informed festival in Victoria, Canada, at a chapel on a University campus.

Room 3: Inga Driksne - The Art of Micro-Grief Tending in Daily Life

Micro-griefs often go unnoticed as our focus is drawn to the big, capital-G Grief. Yet, even the smallest of life changes can carry subtle grief. Recognising and tending to these, first requires cultivating a healthy relationship with the Grief itself.

In this session, Inga will explore the subtle, often unacknowledged micro-griefs that show up and accumulate in our daily lives, and how attending to them can foster deeper self-awareness and emotional balance.

Room 4: Angie Fox, Sherri Lassila, Luther Kitahata, Kerry Radcliffe - Bringing an Unfolding Approach to Cohort Group Coaching

Are you interested in bringing an unfolding approach to working with coaching cohorts (I.e., supporting individual unfoldment in a group coaching format?)  Or are you already doing this?  We are exploring the possibility of offering a course that focuses precisely on that.  And/or offering unfolding coaching cohorts where you could join a group of peers to continue sharing the journey of your own unfoldment and experience a model for how to do this in groups.  Let’s explore together what makes working in groups so meaningful for personal development, what feels hard/challenging about it, what skills are required, how to bring an unfolding approach to group space, etc.

  • Room 1: Todd Boone - Live Attunement Demo

Can we hand over a session entirely in trust so that Unfoldment itself can guide? What happens when we eschew resolution and instead make unconditional relationship our sole purpose? The answers might surprise you. Through a live demo, Todd will facilitate a highly attuned exploration rich in allowing, honoring, permission, and even encouragement for everything that arises. Participants will take away new possibilities to experiment with deeper attunement and greater trust in Unfoldment itself to lead their sessions. Following the demo, there will be a debrief as a community. Todd will need a volunteer.

Room 2: Joe Reifer - Attunement to Fundamental Consciousness

In this session, Joe will explore embodied nondual awakening through one of the primary practices of the Realization Process. This powerful but gentle, precise attunement practice is for realizing your own nature as Fundamental Consciousness pervading your body and environment as a unity. After a brief introduction, there will be a 25-30 minutes practice, followed by time for integration and reflection.

Room 3: Christian O’Connell - Public Speaking and the Art of Unfoldment

Christian defines public speaking as when there are more than two people involved! How can unfoldment help us to deepen our daily conversations at work, at home, and with ourselves? Outside of a coaching conversation and into the everyday, When we get nervous and lose our voice, over prepare, say nothing. Don’t even know what our true voice is

MEET THE HOSTS

Nicolas Campbell

His company - Transforming Communication - uses dialogue, coaching, and implementation science to help agencies advance and achieve better outcomes for their clients, communities, staff, and the world. Better conversations, better collaboration, better outcomes. Tom integrates many strands of learning into his work, including the evidence-based principles and practices of Motivational Interviewing, the work of Bob Kegan and Lisa Laskow Lahey on adult development, and Bernard Lonergan’s philosophy and theology of consciousness and interiority. Following Lonergan, Tom believes that “authentic collaboration is the source of legitimate power.” To reach authenticity, we must be faithful to the dynamic structure of our own consciousness. This means being attentive, intelligent, rational, responsible, and loving.

We look forward to seeing you there!
