For years participants in our coaching courses have come to me saying, “You must teach this to parents!” I’m delighted that I can now respond, “We are!”

Unfolding Thriving Parents and Children

Are you longing to have a stronger connection and relationship with your teenager?  Do you sometimes feel inadequate as a parent to meet the day-to-day challenges of raising your tween? Do you feel limited by the busyness of life to be present with your young children in ways that they need and you long for? Do you want to awaken to the wonder and mystery of your kids? Are you ready for a deep and authentic inquiry into conscious parenting alongside other parents holding similar questions? If so, then this program is for you.

Parenting calls forth your greatest gifts, giving birth to a sea of joy, unimaginable strength, and profound love. And, at the same time, parenting can challenge you to your very core, triggering your worst fears and behaviors, and giving rise to a regular flow of anxiety and sense of not-enoughness.

This immersive course is like a practice group for parents and takes its inspiration from Aletheia Coaching. In Aletheia we practice the art of deepening relationships, exploring inner worlds, and uncovering innate resourcefulness, creativity, genius, and wisdom for navigating life.

In this practice group you will learn how to apply the principles and practices of Aletheia Coaching with children and with yourself to create conditions that support their unfolding and your own.

A community of conscious parents …

With a cohort of other parents, educators, and caregivers, you will explore powerful and loving ways to be present with children that create the conditions for them to unfold and flourish. And, in turn, you will experience how these very conditions enable you and them to thrive together.

… on a path of unfoldment …

Being a perfect parent or caregiver is impossible. In this course, you are invited to show up exactly as you are. Parenting is always challenging, and parenting in these rapidly changing times even more so. Making mistakes is inevitable. Conscious parenting is never about not making mistakes but always in how you respond to the mistakes you inevitably make. This course will not give you a new standard against which to judge yourself. Instead, this course will open a pathway for you to unfold and deepen your life-long work of parenting.

… together

In this practice group we hold each other in compassion and explore conscious parenting and caregiving challenges. This is an invitation to step into a wider community of support, learning with and from one another.

Participating in this practice group had a significant effect on me as a parent. My kids and I felt the shift together as our relating and our relationship became more intimate and alive.

Who is this practice group for?

This practice group is primarily for parents with children from toddlers to teens. We also recognize that children have other caregivers in their lives, guardians, teachers, grandparents, and other caregivers. This practice group, while targeting parents, is also relevant for anyone who cares for children.

You do not need to be an Aletheia Coach nor have previously completed any training in Aletheia Coaching. If you are new to Aletheia, you will learn how the fundamental principles and practices of Aletheia Coaching create an approach to conscious parenting. If you are already an Aletheia Coach, you will learn new distinctions and creative ways to practice unfoldment with your children. (You will not, however, learn how to be an Aletheia Coach in this practice group. For that, please take the Advanced Coaching Program.)

WHAT HAPPENS IN THIS practice group?

In this practice group, we gather approximately every two weeks, with occasional longer gaps to accommodate school holidays.  During these sessions we will introduce a topic, open up group discussion and have break-out sessions to explore the topic more directly.  In some sessions we will watch recorded demonstrations of unfoldment practice with children.

You will have the option to be paired with a partner or grouped into a pod in the course. In between sessions and modules, you can meet with your partner/pod to support each other, further explore topics, practice together, and share insights and challenges you are experiencing in your parenting. The partner/pod sessions are an opportunity to deepen in and integrate the learning and serve as an additional support. You will also have exercises to do with the children in your life.

The course will cover the following topics:

MODULE 1 - Setting the Relational Foundation… Starting with Ourselves

I have really enjoyed seeing my oldest son be in a healthier relationship with his Parts. All of our kids have more language for their emotions and ways to show me - like when we sit down after school to draw how we feel and can talk about it.

Who are the leaders for this course?

This course is co-lead by Emma Russell who lives in the United Kingdom and Angie Fox who lives in California.

Emma Russell is mum to two amazing boys, Edward, 13 and George, 10. Emma received her coaching certification from New Ventures West and in 2019 began her journey with Aletheia. At the time, her boys were very young and she was both fascinated and amazed by how practising Aletheia directly with her children opened up a deeper, richer, and more conscious way to connect and to see and understand them in a new light. Emma is a biologist by background with a special interest in how our biology impacts on our behaviour. She believes that there is untapped opportunity and power awaiting women who begin to live in harmony with their biology instead of silencing it, which is the default that society expects. As a coach, Emma thrives on supporting others to discover that their lives can be more joyful, fulfilling and vibrant.

It is an honour and privilege to be able to bring Aletheia to parents. Being a parent is one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences in life, and sometimes we are met with situations in which we simply don’t know how to respond. The Aletheia way of being supports a new and more conscious way of connecting with and understanding children. I am in awe of the wonder and beauty of childhood. I have learned and grown so much as a parent from practising Aletheia with my children and from being in supportive conversation with other parents.
— Emma Russell, Course Co-leader

Angie Fox is a divorced mother of two teenagers, Ashley (14 - in Middle School) and JT (16 -in High School) who live with her half-time. She received her coaching certification from New Ventures West as a brand new mom of a 6 week old, and she became a student of Aletheia in 2013, applying it in her parenting ever since. Angie serves as a Faculty Coach and Co-leader for this course and the Aletheia Advanced Coaching Program Levels 1 and 2 courses. Angie also works with individuals, leaders and teams to increase their effectiveness at work through enhancing relationships, compassion, and trust.

I’ve learned so much about parenting from being in conversation and community with others, and simultaneously doing my own inner work.  I’m honored to help bring the elegance of Aletheia Coaching to a community of parents where we can learn to lead and parent more from Presence rather than from our Parts.
— Angie Fox, Course Co-leader
